Winter Weather (Maybe?)

So as the northern part of the North East is getting constantly hammered this month, the mid-Atlantic region has yet to see more than a dusting of snow, though we're getting All The Cold.

-20F last night after wind chills and looking to be in that ballpark again tonight. That's too damn cold.

We're rumored to get 5 inches give or take tomorrow night...but given the way the rest of the winter has gone, I must say, I'm rather sceptical.

So I'm curled up under multiple blankets and the dog while playing Fantasy Life on my 3DS. Husband is playing Diablo III, and I think that's what we are going to continue doing until work forces us to venture back out.

This is the first time I've found myself wishing for a fireplace while living in an apartment, usually I just consider the to be nuisances that take up valuable floor/wall space.

Good luck to those of ya'll in the Boston area.

Stand Against

I don't even know what to say that hasn't already been said by those with louder voices, and better turns of phrase.

But I feel as someone who has been a part of the Atheist/New Atheist movement for as long as I have must stand up and say "I reject that man. I reject that murderer."

Yes, I apparently have some level of belief system in common with that man, but I will not let him represent me. I will stand with honest, honorable religious people, from any walk who are working to make this world a better place before I will ever stand with an Atheist who has so little respect for life as to murder.

My heart breaks for the families who lost their son and daughters. They are the ones who need to be remembered.

Deah Shaddy Barakat, Yusor Mohammad, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, you are gone now, and wrongfully so. My sincerest condolences to your families.

Club Nintendo Closing

Nintendo is closing Club Nintendo. This makes me suuuper sad. I mean, I've been a member since before it was even called Club Nintendo.

I registered my GameBoy Advance SP alll the way back in 2004. It became Club Nintendo in 2009.

This was a great way for them to get feedback on Nintendo-published games. Plus, we got awesome loot for being their feedback/survey monkeys.

I still wear my 8-bit Mario t-shirt, I use my Pikmin tote as my lunchbag, the Platinum award several years ago was a sweet statue of most of the main characters from Super Mario.

As a consumer, I'm failing to see the downside to this program.

Further, it's clear they weren't planning on closing it until recently as fairly new games, like Pokemon AlphaSapphire/OmegaRuby have Club Nintendo codes that the expiration date isn't until 2018.

We have until March 31 (also the last day to register both 3DS and WiiU SSB to get Mewtwo) to get all our games registered, and then all codes expire. We have until June 30th to redeem our Coins.

Why, Nintendo, why?
